Dear KG Parents: Our wonderful school nurse, Ms. Helen has done a thorough inventory of student records. There are many children enrolled in ECE that do not have a completed and signed medical form. (this is NOT the MMR vaccine form) This is an essential part of your child’s registration file. We have issued several reminders. You may get a medical form from the front office in the main building or at your ECE Parent Conference. ALL STUDENT FILES MUST CONTAIN A SIGNED MEDICAL FORM BY NEXT THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27. We anticipate the possibility that the Ministry of Education (SEC) may require children to stay home until their medical form is signed and returned to school. We are hoping all our KG students can remain in school, and have their medical forms returned by October 27 (next Thursday). Please do not delay. Your cooperation is appreciated. Shukrun, Ms. Pasha October 18, 2016
Dear KG Families: Many parents have questions regarding the MMR vaccine letter issued by the Qatar Ministry of Health. I am providing some telephone numbers and a website that you can call or visit that will hopefully answer your questions. The staff at ECE have no other information other than what is on the form. We are not qualified to answer any medical question. Please see your own doctor or visit the website for further clarification. We will keep you updated as to what is happening in this process. As soon as we know any additional information, we will pass it on to you via email and on our ECE Weebly Page. WEBSITE: www.moph.gov.qa PHONE NUMBERS: 6674 0948 for ARABIC or 6674 0951 for ENGLISH In’shallah this will be helpful! Ms. Pasha Dear KG Parents: It's been a great week here at our wonderful ECE! The children have settled in to the classroom routines are enjoying learning so many new things with friends and teachers. Thank you to all the parents who signed up for Parent/Teacher Conferences that will be held next week, Monday/Tuesday, October 17 and 18, between 4-8pm. Your child's teacher will send a REMINDER SLIP home on Sunday, October 16, with your specific conference time. You may also email your child's teacher directly for your conference time if necessary. Your conference is a time to discuss your child's progress with their teacher and have any questions or concerns addressed. Remember that on WEDNESDAY, October 19, Ms. Wafa will have 3 sessions for KG 2 parents to discuss your child's progress in Arabic class. These will be held in the ECE building. Please plan to attend the appropriate session for your KG 2 student. All conferences are private and for parents only, no children. Please make arrangements for child care so you can attend the conference without children. KG 2 A 4-4:30pm KG 2 B 5-5:30pm KG 2 C 6-6:30pm Ms. Wafa will hold sessions for parents of KG 1 students in November. We look forward to seeing our parents next week. Have a great weekend! Ms. Pasha Welcome to the ECE Weebly Page! This is another way for ECE staff to communicate classroom happenings and events to our wonderful parents. Find your child's Teacher/Class and click the button in the large heading above for a peek into your child's specific class. These will be updated frequently, so be sure to check back often. The "Second Step" button is to access current topics regarding our Character Education Program. This page will be updated about every two weeks. Our entire staff is dedicated to the health, safety and education of all our students. The WEEBLY is another tool we can use to help support these goals. By providing another window into your child's day, we hope to strengthen the bond between home and school. Check back often, and Welcome to Weebly! Shukrun, Ms. Pasha Dear KG Parents:
Thanks to all our wonderful Mama’s and Baba’s who attended our recent Parent Visit Day on Sept. 29! Your support and participation means so much to both your child and their teachers. We look forward to building a strong partnership between home and school during the coming year. Remember to sign up for a Parent Teacher conference for either Monday, October 17 or Tuesday, October 18. Conferences will be held every 15 minutes from 4-8pm on both days. Sign up sheets are out at the entry gate, next to your child’s classroom sign in/out. Conferences are for parents only, no children. This is a chance to check in on your child’s progress and adjustment to school as well as have any questions answered. We look forward to seeing you! In our efforts to maintain a healthy environment for all our students and staff, I am sharing our policies regarding medication, lice and toileting issues. MEDICATION: Your child’s registration file MUST include a completed Medical Form indicating any allergies or chronic conditions your child may have. Please check at the main office to be sure your file is complete. If your child requires any type of medication, parents must bring the medicine and the Doctor’s orders to the Nurse in the main building. The nurse will administer prescription medication. The ECE staff DO NOT administer medication, other than special life threatening cases. If your child comes to school, we assume they are able to participate in the regular school day, which includes all classroom and outdoor activities. We do not have the staff or the facilities to provide specialized care for a child who is ill. If your child becomes sick at school, we will call parents to come and pick them up. If your child arrives at school ill or with a fever, you will be asked to take them home. Bringing a sick child to school is unfair to the child, their classmates, and teachers who may then be exposed to the illness. LICE: Lice happen, and lice spread. Our wonderful school nurse does regular “lice checks” at ECE. If a child comes to school with lice, it will spread. If lice are found on your child, you will be called to pick them up from school immediately. We will provide you with written instructions on how to eliminate the lice. After treatment, bring your child to the school nurse, not to ECE. The nurse will give the all clear for your child to return to class. TOILET: Part of being ready for school is the ability to independently use the toilet. Children coming to school in diapers is unacceptable and sends a mixed message to your child (baby or big kid?). Please be sure you are supporting your child’s toileting skills at home. Accidents happen. Staff will assist your child to clean up if there is a “liquid” accident. Be sure your child has their “extra clothes” bag at school. If your child has a “solid” (bowel movement) accident at school, we will call parents to come and clean your child or take them home. Again, we do not have the staff or facilities to deal with major toilet issues. It is our hope to create a strong partnership between home and school, working together for the health, safety and success of all our students. We need and appreciate your understanding and support. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Shukrun, Ms. Pasha - [email protected] |
