Dear Parents,
My name is Marilou Fernando, KG1-C homeroom teacher, and I am pleased to welcome you and your child to my class this year. I graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Education with additional units in Masters of Education. I have taught in the Philippines for 14 years, 3 years in a nursery in Doha, and this is my fourth year in English Modern School, Al Khor. I am interested in arts and crafts such as knitting, cross-stitching and painting using water color. I also enjoy playing piano and flute. Apart from that, I love travelling to different countries with my family, as this allows me to meet new people and learn about their languages and cultures. I believe that in order to be successful in school, your children need support from both home and school. I know that a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. I will do my best as their teacher to provide them with fun-filled activities that develop their creativity, interest and critical-thinking. Finally, one of my most important goals is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am available every day to talk with you between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please don’t hesitate to contact me through the reception office at 44502172 (extension 113 for ECE) if you have any questions or concerns about your child. Sincerely, MS. MARILOU HISOLER-FERNANDO KG1 Teacher |
