Dear Parents, It was an exciting week for our students learning about the process of PHOTOSYNTHESIS! Ask your child about soil, air and sunlight as well as what a plant needs to live and grow! You will be amazed to listen to the new vocabulary on plant life!! With the changes in weather, viruses and bacteria can be easily transmitted resulting in your child falling ill. If you feel your child is sick please keep them at home. We want to keep school a safe place for everybody by preventing unnecessary germs from being passed on to other students and teachers. Next week on Wednesday, 30th November let your child bring or wear ‘ORANGE’. Please no toys or any electronic gadgets. The table below shows a summary of the teaching points which we have covered from 13th November to 24th of November. You can Google the educational websites for the respective subject & lesson for any further reference. Dear Parents, It has been a wonderful start after the half term break. The children are well settled and have started their regular routines. The students are happy to see their classmates and teachers. Early to bed and early to rise will help your child stay active and alert in school. Our garden beds are ready!! The students have potted different types of seeds (vegetable, fruits and flower) and are taking responsibility for watering them. While we are nurturing our seeds, we are also nurturing our students to respect and care for nature and the environment. This simple idea of growing seeds, transplanting them into a bigger area and taking care of the garden has a large influence on the child’s academic and character development. Since the topic for this week was to learn the parts of a seed, the students enjoyed dissecting the soaked seeds to discuss and investigate the seed parts. These activities also help the children to improve their listening, understanding and participation skills. Please remember to read each day to your child. English or Arabic is fine, but it is vital that your is child read to, for at least 15-20 minutes everyday. Research has shown that a father reading to a child has a significant impact on their early reading and comprehension. Next week on Wednesday, 16th November let your child bring or wear ‘purple’. Please no toys or any electronic gadgets. The table below shows a summary of the teaching points which we have covered from 27 October 27 to 10 of November.
